MacGregor Elementary School is one of eight elementary schools in the Bay City Public School District. MacGregor Elementary is located on the south-end of Bay City, Michigan. Bay City is near the Saginaw Bay at the juncture of two major freeways, US10 and I-75.

MacGregor applauds positive behavior and encourages their student to be S.T.A.R. students.Stay Safe-Take Responsibility-Act Positively-Respect All. This initiative is carried out by the entire staff, from teachers, lunch aids, bus drivers, secretaries, and janitorial staff. We reward students with STAR tickets and a number of positive rewards.

We have a number of new initiatives this school year:

• STEAM Special (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Music)
• Newly formed Robotics Club
• NWEA Testing (3 times a year)
• Skills Navigator to help children progress at their level
• Data Folders for every child
• The use of Number Talks and Manipulatives to improve math skills
• An additional 12 minutes has been added to the instructional school day for 2017-18.  This time will be utilized as an intervention, specifically with a focus on story problem solving skills
• Community Partnerships with the Baysail Appledore, Healthy Bodies- Healthy Minds, Boys and Girls Club to name a few
• Reading and Math interventionists to assist struggling students
